Halloween Office Ideas to Die For

Halloween is right around the corner and we have some eerily fun Halloween office ideas to die for to help you and your staff celebrate the scariest day of the year. Halloween falls on a Wednesday this year – the perfect day of the week to shake up your office’s normal routine. Planning activities for your staff to participate is a fantastic way to build camaraderie and teamwork, which ultimately encourages productivity; co-workers having fun together goes a long way in increasing job satisfaction.

1) Pump up the jams!

Your first step, create a Halloween playlist to set the mood. Thriller anyone?

2) Count the candy

An easy way to engage your employees in a festive Halloween activity is with a Candy Counting Contest. In a central area of your office fill a jar with candy. Whoever guesses the amount or is the closest wins ALL THE CANDY!

3) Hold a Costume Contest

If your office works in groups or teams hold a group costume contest. Working together to plan and execute their costumes is a great team-building event. Ideas can vary from characters from the same movie, video game, band, or tv show to zoo animals. Creativity is key. Be sure sure to set guidelines such as no political costumes, no cultural appropriation, and be clear that costumes should be appropriate for your work environment.

4) Calling all chefs!

Organize a Halloween potluck. Ask employees to bring in their most hair-raising Halloween entrees. The Food Network has a spooktacular list here. Ask your employees to be mindful of co-workers allergies and display an ingredient list with their dish.

5) Change up the scenery

Encourage employees to decorate their workspaces. Over the course of the day have employees cast a ballot for the best-decorated space.
